Dey Money is a marketplace where cattlemen hire day-working cowboys for cattle work. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and how long we keep it. We wrote it the way we'd explain it standing at the trailer, not the way a lawyer would.

What we collect

Account information

  • Your name
  • Your @username
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your current town (where you work from)
  • Your state

We collect this so people know who they're working with and so we can reach you about your account and your jobs. Your @username is permanent — it's what keeps your reputation attached to you.

Cowboy information

  • Skills you list and the level you claim on each
  • Assets you bring — horses, trailer, rope horse, dogs, and the like
  • Your experience working cattle, in your own words
  • Availability: travel radius, overnight and multi-day willingness
  • Your profile photo
  • Your minimum day rate

This is used to match you with cattle work and to show a cattleman what you bring to the crew. Your minimum day rate is private. It is never shown to cattlemen; it is only used to keep you from being shown work below your number.

Cattleman information

  • Your outfit profile
  • Ranch information — nearest town, county, state, operation type, herd size range
  • Jobs you post, including dates, day rate offered, and crew size
  • Crew history — who you've hired and who has worked for you

This is used to run jobs, build crews, and let cowboys judge whether the work fits them. Crew history is also what will power features like inviting your regular hands back.

Payment information

Payments are securely processed by our payment processor. Dey Money does not store credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or tax identification numbers. Our processor collects and protects those directly. What we keep on our side is the record of a payment: amount, date, job, status, and the processor's reference for it.

Phone numbers and text messages

Your phone number is used for:

  • Account verification codes
  • Job invitations
  • Crew confirmations and crew status
  • Job reminders
  • Scheduling changes
  • Payment notifications
  • Account notifications

We do not sell phone numbers. We do not rent them, trade them, or hand them to advertisers or data brokers.

Your number is not shown on your profile and is not browsable by other users. It is only shared when it's actually needed to get cattle worked — with confirmed participants on a job you're both on, so the crew can reach each other about gathering time, directions, and changes.

You opt in to texting at deymoney.com when you set up your account. Required account and job texts are part of using Dey Money. Marketing texts are separate, optional, and off unless you check the box. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not required to create an account or profile. You can change your marketing preference any time under Account → Notifications.

Reviews

Reviews on Dey Money are confidential. A review is written after a job closes out and is used to build long-term reputation over many jobs — not to publish a scorecard after one bad morning in the alley. We never reveal who wrote a review, and we don't show a public score until someone has enough completed jobs for that reputation to mean something.

When we share information

  • With the other side of a job — a cattleman sees the cowboys on his crew, and a cowboy sees the outfit and the work.
  • With our payment processor, to process payments and payouts.
  • With the services that deliver our email and, once texting is live, our text messages.
  • When the law requires it, or to investigate fraud, safety issues, or abuse of the platform.

We do not sell your information. Cowboy profiles are not publicly browsable — a cattleman sees a cowboy through real hiring context: an invitation, an offer to help on a job, or work you've done together before.

How long we keep it

  • Profile and account information: as long as your account is open.
  • Job, crew, and payment records: kept after a job closes because they're the record of work done and money moved, and we're required to keep financial records.
  • Reviews and reputation history: kept as long as your account is open, since reputation is built over time.
  • Verification codes: minutes — they expire quickly and are stored scrambled, never in plain text.
  • Consent records: kept as the record that you opted in, including if you later opt out.

Close your account and we'll delete or de-identify your profile information. Financial and job records tied to completed work are kept as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your rights

  • See what we have — most of it is right there in your account.
  • Correct it — edit your profile, phone number, and details any time.
  • Change your messaging preferences under Account → Notifications, or reply STOP to any text.
  • Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to delete your account.

Write us at hello@deymoney.com and a person will handle it.

Cookies and analytics

We use basic cookies to keep you signed in and to keep your account secure. We use simple analytics to see which pages get used and where people get stuck, so we can make the product better. We do not use advertising trackers and we don't sell analytics data.

Children

Dey Money is for adults doing paid cattle work. You must be 18 or older to use it.

Changes and questions

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and tell you. Questions go to hello@deymoney.com. Our Terms of Service cover how the platform itself works.
